2024 was a game-changing year for Overplay! From being on Shark Tank to launching our live beta to having a billboard in Times Square, we couldn’t be prouder. 🙌 Here are some of the highlights in pictures:
A huge unexpected milestone for Overplay was being called up to be on Shark Tank and then having billionaire Mark Cuban come on not only as an investor but also as an advisor! (Missed it? You can still watch here).
To celebrate, we got a billboard on Times Square! (Thanks to our investors Village Global and their partners Brex.)
At the same time as our airing, we were finalists for the Innovation Awards at SXSW!
We got a ton of media coverage including on Bloomberg, ABC News, NBC, VentureBeat, Yahoo!, Benzinga, FOX News, and more! We were also featured on a number of podcasts.
We grew our partnership with Adobe with an Overplay add-on for Adobe Express and we also attended Adobe MAX again! Not to be outdone, we announced our partnership with NASCAR teams starting in 2025. (Yes, we will have our own race car!)
But let’s not forget the true star of the show: the Overplay app and creators who are already making games! With the launch of our Beta we’ve had hundreds of thousands of app downloads and millions of games played, with tons of games being submitted every week. This is all without paid marketing. This year, Overplay also secured another important patent: seamless transition from portrait to landscape.
In fact, we just released a huge app update this week which includes: a brand NEW heads-up display that helps users track game actions with precision, enhanced game recommendations, improved end-of-game experience, refined tutorial, and bug fixes and performance enhancements. Make sure you download the latest and greatest for iOS and Android!
