📰Big News Rikki’s Investors📰
We’ve secured the permanent home of San Francisco’s first women’s sports bar! Rikki’s will be located at 2223 Market Street in the Castro, on the edge of the Mission Dolores & Duboce Triangle neighborhoods. We signed this lease because of YOU. The community financial support every Wefunder investor has committed helped us secure this location and take a big step forward to opening the doors to Rikki’s.
The Space
The bar and restaurant is approximately 2,400 square feet, including a full bar and kitchen allowing Rikki’s to welcome guests of all ages. After viewing more than a half-dozen spaces, most without kitchens, we kept coming back to the 2223 Market space. The location, community of bars and restaurants along this stretch of Market Street, and the price and condition of the space prompted a deeper dive into operating Rikki’s with a full kitchen. We know that having food on-site will help guests stay longer and with a well-equipped kitchen already in-place we just needed the right person to work with in putting together the food menu.
The Food
Enter JD Voss, current owner of Chicago’s m.henry and previous owner of San Francisco’s SOMA favorite Jamber Wine Pub. Jamber operated for a decade in San Francisco producing scratch-made, accessible, and shareable comfort food. Exactly the qualities we’re developing for Rikki’s. JD has over two decades of kitchen and restaurant experience from staffing the line to ownership. We’re confident that we have the right team to execute food well and can’t wait to share our menu with you.
We are confident that the additional revenue coming from the kitchen and the longer time customers will spend with us will make this a success, but this addition does mean opening the doors to Rikki’s will cost more than our original estimates. We continue to welcome investments and are confident that the location announcement and media push will help push us over the top to our goal.
